Door Panel Failure - Glue vs Foam S70

There have been countless posts on the failure of the door panels. I have had three 1999 70 series since 2000. Had a S70 and V70 at the same time for about 5 years. Now have one "late" production 1999 S70 AWD. The panels failed on the two earlier production 99s.

I inspected the panels on both of my cars, and discussed this with my dealer. I believe the failure is caused not by bad glue as is always stated. The glue seems to hold fine. Rather, the foam seems to have failed. There is pleanty of foam attached to the panel after failure, it is still attached to both the plastic sheet and the backing board, but the foam seems to have disintergrated. Any others seen this? The tech who replaces the panels thought the same.
