Did I make a mistake? S80

From a slightly different persepctive...........

We have a 2001 S80 T6. My daughter worked for Volvo Cars, so we got a good deal on it. Yes it has had the obligatory ETM replacement. There is one rough spot in the shift to high gear at 50 MPH that the dealer cannot seem to reproduce. Overall, the my wife loves the car. I has 82,000 mile son it now. We have the 100,000 mile warranty, so I guess we will keep it at least until then.

Concerning some of the other comments, I DO wind it out every now and then. I love passing on two lane roads with it. I have since we got it with 25,000 mile on it. The Volvo technical rep that drove it before we got it, said to do this. He said a full bore wind up rotates the valves and keeps the seats clean.

I run Motorcraft 5W30 synthetic blend in it. I do all the service except the 30,000 mile intervals. It does take some special tools and ingenuity to do some of the things. Finding a butt wrench for the oil filter was fun. I bought mine from a Snapon truck for $25. Volvo wanted over $40 and made it virtually impossible to purchase one. Changing the passenger compartment air filter is another experience and, by the way, there are two different filters and no one seems to know which one is in a car. Take your old one to the dealer with you. (and hold on to your wallet)
