Rocker panels rubbing paint in rear door jamb - solution? 850

Hello.

My 95 855 is experiencing a paint wear-through in the door jambs where the plastic rocker panel ends and tucks into the rear of the door opening. The panel is tight and appears to be in the design location, but the plastic is so close to the painted jamb that it rubs and has rubbed the paint off, causing a corrosion issue. I've tried to repaint it but that paint wore off too. I even tried a spacer made of a folded over duct tape, not wanting to cause more problems, and those things vibrated loose. Has anyone else noticed this problem? It fits fine in front on both sides, but in the back, it's tight to the point of rubbing. A spacer in a different spot?

Thanks for the input!
