abs/tracs lights on at startup S70 1998

Hi all,
After a LOt of rain here, my ABS and TRACS light stay on upon startup, then usually go out after I get up to 10-15mph. Occasionally they come back on, and the pedal shudders for a second. I don't know if this is weather related, it's doing it now while it's somewhat dryer. I don't have any scan tool. I checked the tightness of the connector on the ABS module, seems OK without taking it out of the socket. It's not wet.
The car has about 75K miles on it. I replaced the pads about a year ago. When the lights are out the brakes act normally.
Any ideas where to start?
