Water pump - Hepu vs. Orginal Volvo 850

1994 855 NA with 161K on the clock.

A while ago I posted a question regarding
what water pump I should buy Hepu or
Original Volvo. Here are my findings after
taking the original pump off.

I intended to order the Volvo pump, but
gave them the wrong part number and I
received the Hepu

The Original Volvo pump has a stainless
steel impeller, the Hepu does not.
The Original Volvo gasket was in perfect
condition, the gasket that came with the
Hepu pump would have worked, but is
not of the same quality.
After 161,000 miles the Original pump
bearing was tight with no play. The Hepu
spun more freely than the original pump.

I decided to put the Original back in for
another 70,000 miles - I think it's going
to make it. We'll see... In my opinion the
Volvo (AISIN) pump is worth the extra dough.
