Consequences of disconnecting awd????? V70-XC70 1998

Resale already went to hell. How much worse could it get? Seems to me resale value could actually improve. He just wants to drive it - sounds like a great idea to me. I think there's a great lesson here for manufacturers - if you feel that you must make complex, gadgety, gimickly cars, and you want them to have some resale value (so you can have high residual values and low lease factors on your leases), design them to be gracefully decontented later in life so they can become a viable used car for someone. Clearly they have not yet figured this out yet but I'm optimistic that they will someday.
