Is the ECC on the dash easily replaceable?

Has anyone replaced their ECC (Electronic Climate Control) unit? Is it a modular unit -- just pull it out, unplug a wire or two at the back, and plug in the new one?

Everything is working fine but I noticed the two blinking orange lights on the ECC. So I am just trying to plan ahead.
