2004 S40 T5--Audio not coming through Speakers, CD 'Paused' S40-V40

I am having a problem with the audio on my radio today and was hoping somebody might be able to tell me how to resolve the issue. The radio seems to be picking up transmissions, however the volume controls are inactive and no sound is coming through the speakers. When I switch to a CD, the display reads "Paused," however I am not sure how to unpause it. There is nothing in the manual about it. Can anyone tell me what the problem might be? Thanks.
