AWD Transfer failure due to the use of spare wheel. V70-XC70 1997

All early AWD owners should have a warning sticker on the spare tire: Do not use a spare tire!
I had thoughts of throwing it away, except for when I sell the car someone might ask where it is.
Typically, the UK Volvo organization is better at handling customer complaints than the USA organization. I have never heard of anyone in the USA being compensated for using a spare tire. Their logic, in the manual, is get the car towed on a flat bed truck. Do not tow with any wheels on the ground, ever!

Of course, if you park in a tow zone in the USA, the tow truck is going to lift the front of the car and drag it to an impound lot, charge you $200 for the service, and you have no recourse when you get the $5,000 bill from the dealer.

Perhaps I will leave the spare tire in the dealer's showroom when I go back.
