New thought....Water causing it....Read on--> 850 1996

Okay, so everything is fine, but water is causing wierd things. Water splashing up on grounding points. Check your ground wires. There are several, but the main one that seems to cause issues is behind the engine, sort of left center towards the passenger side. There is also one (I believe) nearer to the turbo. If it is loose then this might be the cause of your issue. Just check and retighten the ground wires. Couldn't hurt anyway, and I've read of similar issues with others when it rains and water splashes up into the engine well from below.
