This archive item talks about a "Speed Sensor" (asks "where is it?"), but ends w/out follow up:

I'm having a similar issue but not quiet as drastic: Upshift is fine, but downshifting is delayed (seems to happen late while slowing) and then, when hot, it doesn't go into first after stopping until I accellerate slightly. Checked codes, nothing came up for tranny. Flushed fluid 2 weeks ago, no improvement.

Could this be the "Speed Sensor"? If so, what and where is it?
Other ideas?

Archive is not very helpful with AT issues.
