Oil Dip Stick S70

You guys don't understand the parts business at all. It's a scam!? Honestly, I've ran into some ignorant and misunderstanding customers before but this is ridiculous! Parts supersessions (changes) exist for many reasons. One could be because the original supplier of the part is now out of business and the OEM now has to use a different supplier. Another reason and perhaps the most common reason is that the manufacturer realized that there was a problem so they changed the design in the anticipation that it would be better. In many cases it is better; in this case it may not be. I am a Volvo trucks parts rep. Ironically on some current Volvo truck models they are having a problem with the dipsticks and tubes so they changed the design and unfortunately it appears that the change was not for the better on all modesl as some dipsticks continue to break in the same fashion that the cars dipsticks are breaking.

By all means, this is not a scam. Do you really think that VCNA would purposely have a new design in order to scam it's customers? I usually pass on commenting about things like this but calling this a scam is harsh and a horrible assumption.
