CV Joint Removal V70-XC70 1999

I'm in the middle of removing the left (passenger side) CV joint from my 99 V70. The outer joint came out with a problem. I can't separate the inner joint though. Is there any trick to remove the inner joint, or do I need to pry it off with a lever. I don't want to risk damaging the inner joint. Thanks for any advice you can provide.
