Loud clunk when shifting into reverse 850

MIJ gave you a good thing to think about - changing your fluid. The procedure is pretty easy - IIRC, you disconnect a hose near the battery (at least on my turbo), and put the end in a gallon container below the car. Start the car, and let it pump a quart or quart and a half out (NO MORE than that at one time). Turn off, add new fluid to where the dipstick is, and repeat. Do this for as many quarts as it holds (I think 9 or so). The fluid that comes out will eventually run clear as the old fluid is flushed. Replace the hose and you are done. The hardest part is getting the clamp undone that holds the hose on the transmission cooler. In my case I had to rock the clamp back and forth a bit to undo some corrosion between the nipple and the clamp. There is a little clip that prevents the clamp from coming off the transmission cooler (you flex it to get the hose off). Flex this carefully so you can reattach the hose without trouble. This is all from memory - there are a few procedures (with variations) on the internet - maybe Volvospeed. Some suggest the fancy machine the shops have, but a lot of people just flush using this method. Good luck, Don
