Need advice on buying a V70 V70-XC70

One more thing that has me petrified about my V70R AWD is I understand a fuel pump failure could cost as much as $2300.00 because the entire rear sub-frame has to come down to get at the tank. Isn't that kind of super poor engineering? I replaced my fuel filter as soon as I heard about that. The angle gear in the AWD is a 2500.00 repair too. 98 was a good year, but stay with a low mileage and complete maintenance records. They are scary expensive to fix even if you can do a lot of work yourself.
