LOL For what it's worth...

There are only a few full size station wagons in the USA. Volvo, BMW, Audi, and Mercedes. The big 3 only make minivans.
Used Volvo wagons (V70) are much cheaper than the others, but hold more stuff and are more comfortable. Older folks have a hard time because the seats are so low to the ground, egress is tough.
Reliability? The 1998 is good if it is not awd. 99-01 have ETM issues. 02-06 have better awd and better ETMs. Cleveland gets a little snow once in a while, and if you have to go into the river park area, awd would be nice to have.
The newer the V70, the better. BUT, it all depends on trusting the seller. If you read Consumer reports, you may not buy anything but a Lexus/Toyota. Let your brains lead your heart when you buy a new wagon. But always like what you buy, even if Consumer reports doesn't agree. We buy Volvos because they are good cars and they are cheaper than Mercedes or BMW.
