to buy a 2004 or 2005 XC70 or not? V70-XC70

I am interested in your opinions on the XC70 2004/2005 models.

I currently have a 1986 740, which has been in my family for its whole life and my car for the last 11 years. It is great, but rust is killing the frame, and is starting to show its age. I love the durability and dependability this car has given us, and would like to find similar qualities in my next car. Could the XC70 be it? The comments on the early model years of the XC70 worry me. Has Volvo gotten it together?

I would be thinking of a certified 2004/2005 XC70.

I also like working on my own car, but time and space will likely limit that to oil changes and other very small stuff.
