Silly questions about 2004 XC70 - iPod input? Tires? Good Volvo dealer in NYC? Maintenance? V70-XC70 2004

I am looking to purchase a 2004 XC70 and have some questions:

Can I hook up my iPod directly through the stereo without an FM transmitter?

What type of tires are people using for all-season use? Do I need to stick with the Pirelli Scorpions?

Are there any honest Volvo dealers in the New York City (Manhattan) area to take the car to for service?

I would like to do some of the minor regular maintenance things myself - oil, filters, plugs etc... Do these need to be done by a Volvo dealer or other professional mechanic to keep from getting into trouble when it comes to warranty issues? (I will get a certified one.)
