Automatic shift knob breaks S70 1999

Well i am wondering if anyone has purchase a non oem shifter for an automatic that is better then the dealer. I have had 2 dealer shifters and they all break in the lower part of the shifter. I see the plastic is thin. The dealer puts them on for free as it happens to often to these cars. I hoped that since 1998 or whenever these cars started out that there was a better solution then to get a new shifter that breaks again and again.

I only drive this car 10 miles a day so i am beginning to think this car is very unreliable with things breaking all the time. This isnt the only problem i have had.
