My suggestion is use FCP to buy the gear and other stuff at the same time. If you buy just the gear somewhere else you pay $8 shipping. If you buy something else for your Volvo at FCP (who doesn't need something for their car?) you get the gear for $25 with little or no added shipping. No, I don't work for them, I just am tired of paying shipping several times over.

Take your time and be careful. It doesn't take that long. You will need a variety of torx bits, including a small one (around T7) for the back of the cluster. If you don't have one, buy a good assortment for $10-20. If you opt for just removing the left side of the dash, go slow as you push it up against the windshield and drag the cluster out. Good luck.
