Somthing just blew up. 850 1994

How's your coolant?? If you have an internal engine coolant leak the resulting steam can cause ALOT of smoke to come out the tailpipe. Do a compression check. My younger son's S10 head gasket let go and while he was limping home the smoke was so bad that someone turned him in to the the "1-800-Cut-Smog" number. He got a nice reminder note from the CA DMV and few weeks later after the repairs were done. Nice to know the system works even though they can't force you to make timely repairs.
