Are you sure it is not just dirty and corroded? Can you get some solvent like Liquid Wrench to work its way in there and free it up? Maybe drill a tiny hole in the trim from the inside to allow spray to go in? This has happened to me though rarely on various locks on cars, house doors, etc.
