c70 starter problems C70 2002

After the starter problems, I sent my car to a volvo dealership because I had a turn signal problem. My extended warranty covered everything which was a plus and while I was there, I mentioned about the car not starting all the time. The representative told me that it had to do with a chip in the ignition that was extremely tempermental. He told me that as soon as I heard the car turning over, turn it off (VERY IMPORTANT because the longer you turn the ignition the longer it will take for it to reset itself).
Remove the key, wipe it off on your clothes and return it to the ignition. The car should start right up. Since the first of August, I have had two incidences with the car not starting as soon as key turned and each time I follwed the representatives instructions and the car started up just like he predicted. Hope this helps everyone with starter problems. Try this before spending a bundle on parts that may not be needed. Jen
