tailgate latch for 1998 v70 V70-XC70

Borton's in MPLS? That is where we got our car back in 2002. I cannot believe I drove all the way from Green Bay to MPLS to buy a Volvo. They gave us a pretty good deal on it. It was before ga$ price$ went through the roof also.

The latch thing really has me ticked off. I can feel where the long rod is coming down from the outside handle and touching something on the backside of the latch. This same "something" is being touced by another rod when you attempt to unlatch from the inside of the car. That part of the process seems to be working. It's just that the darn latch will not pop open to let go of the loop on the strikeplate.

I am hoping someone can send me a picture of what this latch looks like when not in the door. There has to be some way to manually get the latch to release from the loop.

Chuck
