pcv or flame 850 1993

car was in for timing belt and I asked for them to check the flame trap/pcv type valve as I know I have not, and have no record or memery of it being done
now I know the 93 is a one year car
so I wnet in to pick it up and when I saw the bill it only siad check pcv valve ( aside from timing belt and tensioner etc) a dn I asked, so did you replace it or clean it
and they said that the 93 is the only year that does not have one

is this true ???? Its a non turbo if that makes a difference.

this is a shop, in biz for over 25 years and do nothing but bmw, benz and volvo
