Replacement shift knob for '94 850T - auto trans 850

Hi Group:

The shift knob on my wife's '94 850 Turbo has deteriorated to the point where chunks of plastic are actually falling off. Anyone know how to remove the entire knob, and what sort of replacements are available? This seems like one of those items that a Volvo dealer would really want an arm and a leg for, and an aftermarket knob might also be nicer. Any suggestions? Thanks in advance.

Regards,

Dean
