850 Turbo rear control arm links and Koni FSDs 850

Am hoping someone has experience with these. I have a clunk in the rear end that is present with larger road deflections. Shocks and struts were just changed out to Koni FSDs, so I know that all upper mounts are good. The clunk was there before and after the change out. Local mechanic says it's the rear control arm links and bushings. The car has 225k miles, and has been well maintained (very).

Anyone know if these links actually go? Was told a similar thing about the links about 100k miles ago and all that was required was tightening the large bolts holding the links in! The parts are approx $115 each from Groton, but the labor will be large.

BTW, I like the Konis, but I wasn't looking for a sport ride. They handle much like the stock turbo suspension except that they take alot of harshness out of the little fast deflection type of bumps. Had Bilstein HDs in a few years ago and took them out due to harshness. They made the car handle like it was on rails, but too much kick in the butt over bumps for me.

Many thanks,

Perry
