engine problem...replace or walk away?

Jesse,
Yes; locally we have a shop specializing in Audi, Volvo & Saab who charge
$65.00 per hour, (and that's Canadian, so @$60.00 USD). I can't see it taking a qualified tech any more than @ 20 hours to do the job, and apart from misc. shop supplies there are very few parts to swap. Just be sure to have the serpentine belt changed on the replacement engine as it is one heck of a lot easier to do outide of the engine bay than within.
