just stop and wont start back up 850 1993

i am the owner of a 93 volvo 850 bought used little over a year ago. the car is in very good condition and ran excellent until two months ago. seems that every now and again while driving the car would just cut off, weither high speed or idling, just cut off. but when it does it always starts right back up, and it does this maybe once a week or every two weeks. while on my way to work the other day on the highway doing about 65mph it cut off again but this time it didnt start back up. i thought it might be fuel as it was kind of low, so i put two gallons in but it still wont start so i had to have it towed home. is there anyone who has had this simular problem or knows what they think my problem might be. im thinking ignition coil, is there a way to test it, and also can anyone tell me where the fuel pump relay is located on this particular vehicle. any help would be greatly appreciated before i spend a lot of money to put it in the shop.
