Key Fob case replacement S70 1998

This post is a follow-up to one I posted a week or so ago and while the results may seem obvious, I was challenged by KlausC to be the guinea pig and report the results. My problem was a functional key fob (actually several) with a broken case. The case itself is apparently not available from the dealer, but there are complete new and used key fobs on eBay. I purchased a new one (Buy it Now, as I didn't want to wait through the bidding exercise) for about $40.00 including the shipping and handling. As I expected, the electronic circuit board from the old broken case was easily slipped into the new case and works just fine. Opening the case (if you haven't done it already to replace the battery) is done with a twist of a screwdriver or coin between the bottom edges. Carefully pop out the circuit board and replace with your original (assuming your original is working and it is just the case that is broken). Latch the two halves together at the top and snap the bottom together. That's all there is to it. Takes about 30 seconds.
