Transmission Problem V70-XC70 2001

Fellow Bricksters,

We own a 2001 V70 Non Turbo with the 5 speed auto transmission and we have an issue of the car seemingly going into nuetral at times whilst accelerating at abot 20-30 MPH, thus the engine revs for a few seconds before going back into gear. It also does not matter whether the car has just started or is warm. It is not the oil as I checked the level and it is o.k.

This issue does not happen all the time in fact it probably has only done it 3-4 times the past couple of months. The car only has 50,000 miles on it but it is out of warranty,

Bit suspicious would the Electronic Control Module have anything to do with this??? I have read that this is a common failure in my model. If it needs a new transmission than what would that cost also???????

Any help appreciated
