What is this? V70-XC70

Middle of the engine bay? Alarm sounders are generally down in the air dam like the horns but this could be an exception. Just seems like an odd placement to me.

Sure, I'll try it though. My next step was to disconnect the cable running to it, start the car, and pull the code, assuming it is an emissions or engine management sensor.
