ABS Module’s fixed! Thanks to this board esp. to Victor Rocha! V70-XC70 1999

To All,

Last Friday I emailed Vic that my 1999 V70 XC ABS module is dying and agreed to see me the next day a two hrs. drive(one way) from where I live Bakersfield, CA. The ABS, Traction Control and CEL had been popping on and off before, accompanied by speedometer needle going to zero during a highway speed.

I arrived to there house midday talked a little bit about the problem then went to work. He spend less than ten minutes in removing the old module, put a rebuilt one then another ten minutes of test drive with him, checked codes, reset service light, gives some pointers and before I know it I’m on the way home after I paid $180 not the $730 that the dealer were asking me just for parts in less than 30 minutes from start to finish.

I salute for the job well done and the newly put ABS module responded to what it should do, when everybody is doing a sudden brake in front of me along Los Angeles freeway(Interstate 5)on the way home. I got scared in the back of my mind that it might not respond but it did and I feel relieved.

Once more, thanks for the accommodation in a very short notice.

Gil C. Casabar
