Nivomat conversion 96 850 wagon

Hi,
I have a 1996 850 Turbo (Platinum Limited Edition) wagon, it is fitted with Nivomat Rear Shocks. I would like to know if it is possible to fit standard rear shock without any modifications to the shock mounts. (I also ofcourse have to fit new springs.) Since its stated in the description of most regular rear shocks that they do not fit cars with nivomat shocks, my quetion is if that is solely because you also need to change the springs or because the mounts are different.
Thanks to anybody the can shed light on this.
