oil loss 850

i let car sit for a year while starting it at least 2 times per month. the car never used oil. now i found it lost almost 3 qts in 2,000 miles. refilled and checked frequently. now find i am losing .5 liter in 250 miles. any ideas? i am thinking turbo seal as possibility.
also, car passed emmissions, no sign of oil burning or leaking on floor.
