Front Bearing failure 2001 S80 S80 2001

Just a heads up.

Finally found problem that's been giving me fits. 2001 S80 2.9L with 85K miles.

Seemed the car (9 months ago) suddenly felt "darty" on the road, with a very twitchy feeling with steering at speeds over 35 mph--seemed different somehow. But not my daily driver car so unsure when whatever happened.

Blamed Wifey for hitting curb, but not fixed with alignment service. Still in trouble with wifey about that.

Starting hearing a lot more road-noise-like sounds at highway speeds. Seemed worse when steering towards the left. Great, thought tires were worn funny by malalignment suspected above.

Finally, take pal out one night, he says "when you getting that front bearing done?". Sheesh.

Classic symptoms, especially the volume differential with steering to/away affected side. Why didn't stealership figure it out (Jenkins volvo Milwaukee). They said alignment was off but no suspension problems.

Part was ~$110, labor ~$75. Instructions online Bay 13 website. Private garage.

Now to find/fix those clunks and squeaks.
