cabin air filter drain? V70-XC70 2002

The black plastic part you remove to extract the cabin air filter has what looks like a place to hook a drain hose, but my car does not have a hose hooked on; also there is no really obvious place for such a hose to drain through the floor.

Am I missing a hose, and if so where does the bottom end go? I'm out of warranty, and some times the right side floor gets a little wet if you drive highway speeds for a long time in a hard rain.
