He's right - the useless options are the things that break V70-XC70 1998

MittenHed is absolutely right, it is the extras and gadgets that are troubleprone. The difficulty for someone seeking a used V70 or S70 in USA is that most were sold loaded with options. This is how dealers like to sell cars because of the potential for profit-making repairs, and most of the buying public is dumb enough to go along with the game. Think of it, have you ever heard of a stupider idea than an electically-operated seat, when the manual one works perfectly well? It takes a patient and disciplined buyer to specifically order a car with minimal options and wait for it to be delivered. My 1999 V70 has been remarkably dependable, but it is also a low-option model. Nevertheless, I can't in good conscience suggest that anyone buy a Volvo because of the rude and cheap way Volvo NA treats its customers whose cars are out of warranty. If the manufacturer won't stand by its product, you certainly should not support them .
