Seat back 'twisted', cable broken. First Post here... 850 1995

No need to disconnect the battery when taking out the seat, just don't drop it on it's left side!! The plastic cover pushes back and up, or is it up and back, to uncover the SIPS mechanism. There should be a red plastic tab that covers up the SIPS actuator, making it safe.
Someone already had the seat out and put it back crooked! Just make sure that the tracks are alighed properly and free of rocks, etc. It will be obvious once you have the 4 bolts out and the seat upside down.
