A/C Not working for first time, compressor not kicking in. Relay? 850 1994

How can you be certain it's not low gas and/or evaporator? The compressor won't start is the gas if too low. You can jumper the switch (under the passenger side cowl) and get it started (but only do this for short periods of time or you'll burn out the compressor), then add gas. Of course, you can measure the gas with a gauge from the low side port (fill valve) to be sure. On our old 850 we used the AC in the winter too (like you) and when the evap failed, it was quick and painful ($$$). Good luck.
