OBDII codes P1174 and P0422 V70-XC70

I'm wondering if anyone knows what the following OBDII codes mean:
P1174 Volvo Fuel Adaption, Bank 1
P0422 Generic Main Catalyst Efficiency Below Threshold (Bank 1)

Are they somehow related in that fixing one will fix the other? I have an '00 XC. Also, is there an explanation of Volvo specific OBDII codes on the web somewhere?
