Does Check Engine light come on to change Timing Belt ? 850 1994

Damn ! Check engine light came on today and the code still reads 1-1-1 My Odometer went out about 18 months ago (I told myself to fix that thing:-( so I'm not sure how many miles I have on my 1994 850 Wagon. Now I'm wondering if the check engine light comming on this morning was a reminder to change out the Timing belt..Anyone know if & when the "Reminder" Light comes on ??
