XC Bevel Joint V70-XC70 1999

I am having a serious problem with a 1999 X/C. Car went in for 90K mi. service at local Volvo specialist, not dealer whom we've had trouble with in the past. Shop claimed there was a slight leak from "bevel joint" and that since car was designed to never have fluid drained from this joint that they would install drain plug, put in fresh fluid, seal, etc. To make a long story short, what was a small leak has turned into a bigger one that they cannot fix despite now four trips back to this place. They also claim that the leak is not coming from their jury rigged drain plug. Any suggestions on how to get this problem really fixed would be greatly appreciated. Thanks! GS
