First Maintenance indicator light V70-XC70 2006

My girl has a new v70. we let the dealer do the first Maintenance/ oil change. Well the service guy said we can do the oil changes from here on if desired. What is the first major Maintenance 10-14K anyway ? Does anywone know how to turn that indicator Off?
