causes for not shifting? 850 1996

What the... And they call themselves a repair shop?! I never use butt connectors under the hood of a car. Well, I did once, and learned my lesson. I don't know what to tell you other than limp it back to them and bitch right back for f*ing up your car. It could be the messed up connector, it could be something else got messed up in the process. There is also the (admitedly slim) chance that the new switch itself is faulty. Are there any other shops or a dealership available? I've had many parts that were brand new fail immediately. I replaced the plug wires on a customers '79 264, and got quite a fireworks show from what were supposedly high quality wires.

I planned on doing the repair myself, as the local indie shop has been sold, and I don't trust the new owners to know the proper places to stick a screwdriver. It will be next weekend before I can get time to replace the switch. Since I run a restoration shop, I have the proper tools and know-how. It's just the electronics that worry me.
