How to remove ECC Unit? Cabin temp sensor? V70-XC70 2000

I couldn't find it in the Brickboard archives, either. Something seems screwey with the archives, the search feature doesn't seem to work as well as it did in the past -- you need to take the unit out to replace the bulbs, so this gets done.

From Volvospeed:

"If this is an automatic climate control model try this.

"if you have the original radio for the car and the power off code..remove the radio.. put your hand up in the crevice and push it out , its just held in by housing clips.

"The other way is pull off the dials for the temp control on both sides and use two pliers on the metal stub the knobs are attached to and yank it out.

"Warning..if this is the manual control...there are two screws under the dial which release it (one on each side under the dials)"

One of the Volvospeed hits had pictures of the removal from an 850. As I remember, it takes a *considerable* amount of pressure to get the clips to let go. (Just don't use too much so that it breaks the dashboard!)
