Personally I think you will find the Subaru Tribeca outperforms them all. I gave up on newer Volvos after having so much go wrong with my S70 throughout its life. I managed to get 160,000 out of it, but not without paying for it at least twice - once new, and once in the bills for keeping it serviced and running.

I loved the way the Volvo ran, but I've had Subarus for years - and every single one needed no more than routine maintenance - and I keep them for at least 200,000 miles or more.

The Tribeca is a tiny bit smaller, but they've certainly been about AWD much longer than BMW or Volvo.

My two cents for what it's worth.
