alternator issue? or something else. 850 1994

Since nobody else is responding, I'll make a suggestion.

It's been about three years since I removed the alternator from my 850 and I don't own it any more, but as I recall there should be an obvious male connection nearby - seems like it was on the alternator cover or on the side of the alternator. Also, if I remember correctly, if that wire is not connected, you will get no voltage across your alternator and battery.

I don't remember what that is on top of and covering the alternator, but if you can't see or get to the connector for that wire, you can unbolt the part that covers it up (leave all the hoses attached) and just push it out of the way. I am thinking you should be able to get to the alternator enough to find and connect the wire then.

I tried to find a picture of the alternator on Volvospeed and eeuroparts, but nothing showed the whole alternator where the connector might be. I hope this helps, but if not - perhaps Klaus or madeinjapan or one of those guys can respond soon.

Good Luck.

Regards,

Calvin
