Yes that is exactly my opinion. I can see why others like the other approach - it is because their priorities are different. I find your approach more convenient, but others would find the other solution more convenient. I loved my VW Passat wagon's euro rails. I would not even spend the money to get the tower system for my 850 sedan; I will just go without. If I ever get my hands on an 850 wagon I will get the euro rails.
