check engine light V70 Wagon V70-XC70 2000

Check engine light (CEL) is never turned on due to miles driven or age. There is something wrong, probably emmissions related. If you just tanked up, make sure the gas cap is tight.
There is a port for the OBDII, on my 1998 it is in the arm rest. Your best bet is to visit an Autozone, they will read it for free. Pepboys, except some in NJ, also read it for free. A good hand held reader will cost about $175, and some are just software to add to your portable PC with a USB cable connection.
Search on this site (on the right side) for OBD or scanner.
